Placement Calendar Aa Gaya, Aur Tumne Kuch Nahi Kiya?#

Yeh feeling almost har final year student ko aati hai. Placement cell ne notice board pe schedule chipka diya. Pehli company 2 hafte mein aa rahi hai. Aur tumne abhi tak aptitude ki ek bhi book nahi kholi.

Saare batchmates preparation mein lage hue hain. WhatsApp group mein mock test links share ho rahe hain. Woh topper jo hamesha library mein rehta tha, usne toh 3 mahine pehle se start kar diya tha. Aur tum? Tum panic mode mein ho.

Pehle ek baat clear kar doon: tum akele nahi ho. Har batch mein 60-70% students last minute mein panic karte hain. Yeh normal hai. Galat hai, par normal hai.

Doosri baat: 2 hafte bahut kam lagta hai, par agar smart tarike se use karo toh bahut kuch ho sakta hai. Main tumhe ek exact plan dunga jo realistic hai. Raat bhar jaag ke sab kuch ratte maarne ka plan nahi. Focused, strategic preparation jo actually kaam kare.

Pehle Samjho: Placement Process Mein Kya Hota Hai#

Agar tumhe process hi nahi pata, toh preparation kaise karoge? Most campus placements mein yeh rounds hote hain:

Round 1: Online Aptitude Test

Yeh sabse pehla filter hai. Company 200 students ko test deti hai, 40-50 ko shortlist karti hai. Agar yahan fail ho gaye, toh aage ka koi scope nahi.

Kya aata hai:

• Quantitative Aptitude (percentages, profit-loss, time-speed-distance, permutations)
• Logical Reasoning (patterns, puzzles, seating arrangements, syllogisms)
• Verbal Ability (reading comprehension, grammar, sentence correction)

Time pressure: Yeh timed tests hote hain. 60-90 minutes mein 40-60 questions. Speed matters.

Round 2: Group Discussion (GD)

Sab companies nahi karti, par TCS, Wipro, Infosys, aur bahut si service companies GD rakhti hain.

8-10 students ko ek topic diya jaata hai. 15-20 minutes discussion. HR observe karta hai ki:

• Kya tum logically baat kar rahe ho?
• Kya tum dusron ki baat sun rahe ho?
• Kya tum group ko dominate kar rahe ho ya contribute kar rahe ho?
• Kya tumhari body language confident hai?

Round 3: Technical Interview

Tumhare resume ke basis pe questions aayenge. Jo bhi tumne resume mein likha hai, uske baare mein detail mein poochenge.

CS students ke liye: data structures, algorithms, DBMS, OS, networking, aur tumhare projects. Non-CS students ke liye: core subject questions + problem-solving ability.

Round 4: HR Interview

"Tell me about yourself." "Why do you want to join our company?" "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?" "What are your strengths and weaknesses?"

Yeh "easy" lagta hai, par bahut log yahan fail hote hain kyunki answers rehearsed aur fake lagte hain.

14-Din Ka Battle Plan#

Ab aata hai main part. 14 din. Kya karna hai, kab karna hai, kitna karna hai. Follow karo exactly.

Day 1-2: Resume Fix Karo (Pehle Yeh, Baaki Baad Mein)

Tumhara resume tumhara pehla impression hai. Agar resume mein problem hai, toh koi company tumhe interview tak nahi pahunchayegi.

Pro tip: Apne resume ko 2-3 friends ko dikhao aur poocho "10 seconds mein kya samajh aaya?" Agar unhe 10 seconds mein tumhari key strengths nahi samajh aayi, resume weak hai.

Day 3-5: Aptitude Ka Crash Course

3 din mein poora aptitude cover karna mushkil hai. Par tum top 10 topics cover kar sakte ho jo 80% questions mein aate hain.

Quant (Din 3):

• Percentages aur Profit/Loss (har test mein aata hai)

Day 6-7: Coding Preparation (CS Students)

Agar tumhare placements mein coding round hai (TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, product companies), toh 2 din mein basics cover karo.

• Strings (reversal, palindrome, anagram)
• Basic recursion
• HashMap/Dictionary problems
• Simple DP (fibonacci, climbing stairs, coin change)

Kahan practice karo:

• HackerRank (company-specific contests hote hain)

Reality check: 2 din mein tum expert nahi banoge. Par 15-20 easy/medium problems solve karne se pattern recognition aa jaata hai. Zyada tar campus coding rounds easy to medium difficulty ke hote hain.

Non-CS students: agar tumhari companies coding nahi puchti, skip this aur GD/Interview prep pe time lagao.

Day 8-9: GD Preparation

GD mein log 2 galtiyan karte hain: ya toh bilkul nahi bolte, ya itna bolte hain ki doosron ko chance nahi milta. Dono galat hai.

GD success formula:

1. Entry point pakdo: Pehle 2-3 logon mein bolo. First speaker hamesha noticed hota hai.
2. Structure de do: "I think we should look at this from 3 angles: economic, social, and technological." Yeh sunke HR impress hota hai.
3. Dusron ki baat suno aur build karo: "I agree with what Rahul said, and I would add..."
4. Facts use karo: "According to a recent NASSCOM report..." ya "India's IT industry employs 5 million people..." Data se baat strong hoti hai.
5. Summary do (agar mauka mile): Last mein discussion summarize karna bahut achha impression banaata hai.

Top GD topics 2026 (practice karo):

Har topic pe 5-7 points note karo. Both sides ke arguments jaano. GD mein balance dikhana important hai.

Day 10-11: Technical Interview Preparation

CS students ke liye core topics:

Sabse important rule: jo resume mein likha hai, uske baare mein sab kuch jaano.

Agar tumne resume mein likha "Built a chat app using WebSocket," toh prepare raho ki poochenge:

• WebSocket kya hai? HTTP se kaise different hai?
• Tumne kaise implement kiya?
• Kitne concurrent users handle karta tha?
• Kya challenges aaye? Kaise solve kiye?

Project deep dive: Apne top 2 projects ke baare mein 5 minute fluently baat kar sako. Architecture, challenges, decisions, results. Yeh sabse zyada poocha jaata hai.

Day 12-13: HR Interview Preparation

HR round sabse "easy" lagta hai, par yeh woh round hai jahan confident aur unconfident candidates mein farak dikhta hai.

Top 10 HR questions aur kaise answer karo:

1. Tell me about yourself. 90 seconds. Name, education, 1-2 key skills, 1 project highlight, what you are looking for. Yeh script likh ke practice karo. 10 baar bol ke fluent banao.

"Hi, I am Amit from NIT Raipur, final year CSE. I am strong in Java and backend development. In my last internship, I built a REST API for an inventory system that handles 5,000 SKUs daily. I am looking for a role where I can apply my backend skills and learn cloud technologies."

Done. Clean. Specific. Under 90 seconds.

2. Why do you want to join our company? NEVER say "because it is a good company." Research karo. Specific reason do.

"TCS has the largest cloud practice among Indian IT companies, and I want to work on cloud projects. I also know TCS invests heavily in training through TCS iON, and as a fresher, that learning support is valuable to me."

3. What are your strengths? Ek strength bolo jo role se relevant hai. Example ke saath back karo.

"My biggest strength is problem-solving. During my capstone project, we hit a database performance issue with 10K records loading in 8 seconds. I identified the bottleneck, added indexing, and brought it down to 0.5 seconds. I enjoy digging into problems and finding fixes."

4. What are your weaknesses? Real weakness bolo, par saath mein batao ki kaise fix kar rahe ho.

"I sometimes spend too much time making code perfect instead of shipping it faster. I have been working on this by setting time limits for myself: get it working first, then optimize."

NEVER say "I work too hard" ya "I am a perfectionist." Recruiters have heard these 10,000 times.

5. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Company ke context mein answer do. "In 5 years, I want to be a senior developer leading a small team, with deep expertise in one technology area. Ideally within this company."

Remaining 5 (prepare these too): 6. Tell me about a challenge you faced and how you solved it. 7. Why should we hire you? 8. How do you handle pressure/deadlines? 9. Do you have any questions for us? 10. Are you okay with relocation?

Day 14: Final Revision + Mock

Morning: Apne notes jaldi se revise karo. Aptitude formulas, GD topics, technical concepts.

Afternoon: Ek friend ke saath full mock interview do. 15 minutes technical, 15 minutes HR. Feedback lo.

Evening: Kuch mat karo. Relax. Walk pe jaao. Movie dekho. Jo bhi prepare karna tha, ho gaya. Ab fresh mind se interview do.

Night: Jaldi so jaao. 7-8 ghante ki neend. Interview ke din thaka hua chehra aur foggy mind sabse bada enemy hai.

Interview Ke Din: 10 Rules#

1. 30 minute pehle pahuncho. Late hona instant disqualification hai kuch companies mein.
2. Clean, ironed clothes. Formal shirt, dark pants. Tie optional. Neat shoes.
3. 2 copies of resume, printed on good paper. Ek folder mein rakho.
4. Phone silent. Bag mein. Table pe nahi.
5. Eye contact banao. Neeche dekhte hue mat bolo.
6. "I don't know" bolna okay hai. Galat answer se behtar hai honest hona.
7. Question puri suno, phir bolo. Beech mein mat kaato.
8. Specific examples do. "I am hardworking" ki jagah batao KAB hardwork kiya aur kya result aaya.

Pehli rejection ke baad:

• Feedback lo agar mil sake (placement cell se poocho)
• Apna weak area identify karo (aptitude? coding? interview?)
• Usse fix karo next company se pehle
• Mood down mat hone do. Yeh numbers game hai.

Reality check: Top students bhi 3-4 companies mein reject hote hain before getting placed. Placement mein patience aur consistency chahiye. Har company se seekho aur improve karo.

Agar tumhe ek hi cheez karne ka time mile 14 din mein, toh woh hai mock interview. Kyunki:

Panic natural hai. Par panic se decisions kharab hote hain. Yahan kuch practical tips:
