Remote Marketing Jobs Open to Malaysia Applicants (Oct 2026)

JobRise Team7 min read

You're applying from Malaysia to jobs that say "remote", and you can't tell which ones will actually take you, pay you, or pay you on time.

As of 14 October 2026, the JobRise live jobs feed shows 15 open remote marketing jobs whose listings say applicants in Malaysia are accepted. That's a snapshot of open listings, not a market survey, and it moves daily.

13 of those 15 were posted in the last 30 days. Six landed in the last 7 days. So this is a live slice, not a stale pile.

Who's actually hiring#

Delivery Hero has 5 of the 15. That's a third of the slice from one name, and it's worth knowing before you spread yourself thin.

MerchantSpring has 2. Then one each from Maker Lab, Sleek, MASH, Immortals, Bjak, PolicyStreet, Solarvest, and CXG. Some of these are recruiters or staffing firms, so read who signs your contract, not just whose brand sits on the job post.

The titles in play: "Marketing Manager (Scaled Expansions)" at Maker Lab, "Senior Manager/Manager, Vendor Growth Strategy & Performance Management" at Delivery Hero, "Product Marketing Executive" and "Product Marketing Specialist" at MerchantSpring, "Performance Marketing Lead" at Sleek, "Project Manager (Creator Content Supply)" at MASH, "Creative Strategist, International" at Immortals, and "Creative Brand Strategist" at Bjak.

Fourteen of the 15 are full-time. One is contract. And zero are intern, graduate, junior, or trainee titles. That last number matters: this slice is mid-level hiring, so a fresh grad needs a different plan than a rewrite of the same CV.

What "remote" means in these listings#

"Remote" is not one thing. In this slice it means the listing accepts applicants in Malaysia, which is a country restriction, not a promise that you can work from anywhere.

Time zones bite. Delivery Hero and Immortals both have "International" or expansion roles in the titles, which usually means calls with Europe or the US. Ask which hours are fixed and which are flexible before you sign, because a 6pm to 11pm Malaysian shift is a different life than a 9 to 5.

Employment type is the other fork. You'll see three shapes:

  • Employee through a local entity, where a Malaysian payroll runs and EPF/SOCSO/EIS apply as normal
  • Contractor on a service agreement, invoicing monthly, no statutory benefits, handling your own KWSP contributions
  • Employee through an employer-of-record (EOR), where a third party hires you locally on the client's behalf

Each has tax consequences. Contractor income is generally self-assessed and you'll want to keep records and set aside money for tax. EOR and local employment usually handle monthly PCB deductions. Rates and rules change, so check the current LHDN guidance and don't take my word for the thresholds.

One hard rule: ask "who is my legal employer, and under which country's law is the contract?" Get the answer in writing. If they dodge it, that's your answer.

Scam red flags#

Remote marketing roles get targeted by job scams because the work sounds plausible and the pay sounds good.

  • They hire you after one chat app conversation and no interview
  • They ask you to buy equipment, software, or "training" and promise reimbursement
  • They send you money to buy gift cards or crypto, ever
  • The email domain doesn't match the company website
  • The offer letter arrives before a real conversation with a real manager
  • They want your IC number, bank details, or passport scan before an offer

Real employers pay you. You never pay them. If a "Delivery Hero recruiter" contacts you, verify the role on the company careers page and check the sender's domain, because impersonation is the most common trick.

How to stand out#

The recruiter skims for 6 seconds. Your top third has to do the work.

Rewrite bullets so the number leads. Compare:

Before: "Responsible for managing performance marketing campaigns across SEA markets."

After: "Cut cost per acquisition 22% across 4 SEA markets in 2 quarters by rebuilding Meta and Google campaign structure, managing RM 180k monthly spend."

Same job. The second one survives the skim.

Remote-specific proof beats generic proof. Say you ran standups across three time zones, wrote async updates that stuck, or shipped a campaign without a single live meeting. That's the signal they can't teach.

The 7-step plan#

  1. Pick two of the ten companies and go deep, not ten shallow applications. Delivery Hero plus one of the smaller names is a sane pairing.
  2. Mirror the exact job title in your summary. If the post says "Product Marketing Specialist", don't write "Marketing Professional".
  3. Run your CV through a free ATS resume checker before you send anything, because half these firms use one and formatting kills good candidates.
  4. Rewrite your three strongest bullets to lead with numbers: revenue, spend, percentage, market count, time saved.
  5. Add a short "remote readiness" line: your working hours in MYT, your overlap with their core zone, your setup.
  6. Find the hiring manager or a team member on LinkedIn and send a two-line note referencing the specific role. Not a paragraph. Two lines.
  7. Track everything in a spreadsheet: company, title, date, contact, follow-up date. Follow up once at day 7, then let it go.

For the wider market beyond marketing, check Jobs in Malaysia: 232 open listings across all categories in the same snapshot, and the JobRise Hiring Report: Malaysia covers country-level trends if you want context on where hiring is moving.

No salary appears in any of the 15 listings. When you get a number, compare it against at least two other offers or published ranges, and treat anything that sounds too clean as a reason to slow down.

FAQ#

Do I need to be a Malaysian citizen to apply to these roles?

The listings say applicants in Malaysia are accepted, which usually means you need the right to work here, not necessarily citizenship. Confirm the work-permission requirement directly with the employer before you invest interview time.

Why do none of these 15 roles show a salary?

Employers in this slice chose not to publish pay, which is common in regional and senior marketing hiring. Ask for the range early, and be ready to give your expectation in MYR per month or per year.

Should I register as a sole proprietor if I'm hired as a contractor?

Many remote contractors in Malaysia register with SSM and invoice monthly, but the right setup depends on your income level and risk tolerance. Talk to a local accountant before you sign, and check current LHDN rules for self-employment.

How long should I wait before following up on an application?

One follow-up at day 7 is normal and won't annoy anyone. After that, move on, because chasing a silent employer past two touches costs you time you could spend on the next role.

Is Delivery Hero really hiring for 5 separate marketing roles?

The snapshot on 14 October 2026 shows 5 open listings from Delivery Hero in this slice, and they may be separate roles or the same role posted differently. Read each listing's location and team details carefully before assuming they're distinct jobs.
