Top Companies Hiring for Design Jobs in Berlin (Oct 2026)

JobRise Team8 min read

You keep hearing Berlin is full of design roles, but nobody will tell you which companies are actually posting them this month. So here is the list, taken from live job listings, plus what to do with each one.

What the listings show on 14 October 2026#

The snapshot: 16 open design jobs in Berlin on the JobRise live jobs feed, counted on 14 October 2026. Fifteen of those 16 went up in the last 30 days, and 14 went up in the last 7 days. That is a fast-moving slice, and roles here get filled or pulled within days.

This is a count of open listings, not a market survey. It does not say how many designers Berlin employs, and it does not compare to last year. Treat it as a live board you can act on this week.

Every one of the 16 is marked full-time. No part-time, freelance, or contract flag shows in the slice at all, with one exception buried in a title: Healy World GmbH lists a "2 month" role. Read the titles before you assume anything about permanence.

No listing here shows a salary. Zero. So when a recruiter asks for your expectations first, you are not being difficult by asking for their range.

The companies, ranked by open listings#

Ten companies hold these 16 listings, and eight of them have exactly one open role each:

  • Growthartig GmbH (1): "Senior Performance Designer:in - Paid Social (m/w/d)"
  • Invictus Lead Generation GmbH (1): "Kommunikationsdesigner (M/W/D), 20 Stunden, Für Standort B"
  • TechBiz Global GmbH (1): "UX / UI Designer"
  • Patronus (1): "(Senior) Motion & Graphic Designer (w/m/x) - German-speaking"
  • hellofresh (1): "Senior Service Designer, Food Systems & Fulfillment (f/m/x)"
  • TBO Digital GmbH (1): "Senior UX/UI Designer (m/w/d)"
  • Skdse (1): "UX/UI Designer (All Genders)"
  • Healy World GmbH (1): "(Senior) UI/UX Designer for Mobile App (m/f/d) | for 2 month"
  • Finom (1)
  • Forteil GmbH - bonify (1)

That ranking is flat by design. Nobody is running away with Berlin design hiring in this snapshot, so one role per company means one shot per employer, and it changes how you should apply.

Some of these names are recruiters or staffing firms, not the end employer. From the listing names alone, Invictus Lead Generation, TechBiz Global, and Forteil read like agency or placement setups. That is not a verdict on them, but you should ask who the actual team is before the first call.

Three titles carry hard filters. Patronus wants German. Invictus is 20 hours, so a part-time contract posted under a full-time type. Healy World is a two-month engagement.

Skip or target accordingly.

How Berlin compares with Germany#

Berlin holds 581 open listings across all categories on the same date. Design is 16 of those, so it is a thin slice of a big city board. Most Berlin hiring is not design hiring.

Across all of Germany there are 105 Design listings. Berlin's 16 is roughly 15 percent of the national design total, which makes the city a real hub for this field rather than a rounding error. For wider context on national posting volume and timing, the JobRise Hiring Report: Germany tracks hiring patterns countrywide.

The practical read: 89 design listings sit outside Berlin. If you are remote-friendly or mobile, the rest of Germany is in play with very little extra effort.

How to target each type of employer#

In-house product teams (hellofresh, Finom, bonify, Healy World) want one deep case study with process, tradeoffs, and outcomes. Hiring managers skim for how you work with PMs and engineers, so show the messy middle and not just the final screens.

Performance and brand studios (Growthartig, Patronus) care about output volume and channel fit more than process essays. Growthartig wants paid social, so show ad variations and what you learned from them, and Patronus wants motion plus German, so lead with a reel and state your German level plainly.

Recruiters and staffing firms (Invictus, TechBiz Global, Skdse, TBO Digital) reward speed and clarity because they are matching you to a client brief under time pressure. Put your availability, visa status, and salary expectation near the top of your profile, because a clean CV beats a beautiful portfolio site they cannot parse in 30 seconds.

Here is a rewritten bullet for a performance design application.

Before: "Responsible for creating social media ads for various campaigns."

After: "Designed 40+ paid social variants per quarter for a D2C brand, cut cost per acquisition by 18 percent over two quarters by retiring underperforming hooks, and ran weekly creative reviews with the paid media lead."

Numbers you can defend beat adjectives. If you cannot share results, describe the volume and the process instead.

Referral and outreach scripts#

Cold outreach works when it is short, specific, and easy to answer. Two scripts you can adapt.

Referral ask, to someone you know at a target company:

"Hi Mara, I saw your team has a Senior UX/UI Designer role open. I have six years in B2B fintech design and just finished a payments onboarding redesign. Would you be comfortable passing my CV along? No pressure at all, and happy to return the favor."

Cold message, to a hiring manager or design lead you do not know:

"Hello Daniel, your open UX/UI Designer role caught my eye because of the mobile app focus. I have shipped three app redesigns in the last two years, one for a 200k-user product. I attached two case study links. If the role is still open, I would value ten minutes to hear what the team needs most right now."

Keep it under 80 words. Link to work, do not attach 20 MB PDFs.

Never send the same message to five people at one company on the same day.

The 7-step plan#

  1. Pull the 16 open listings today and sort them by fit, not by company fame. Rank on the title's actual requirements: language, seniority, contract length, and craft.
  2. Read each title for filters before you write anything. German at Patronus. 20 hours at Invictus. Two months at Healy World. Applying blind wastes one of your one shots.
  3. Rework your CV and portfolio for each of the top five. One deep case study per role type beats a generic deck sent to everyone.
  4. Run the free company insights tool on each target before you apply. You want headcount signals, hiring activity, and any red flags you can find in public data.
  5. Find one warm path per company: an ex-colleague, a former client, someone in a Berlin design Slack or meetup. Warm beats cold by a wide margin.
  6. Send the outreach script within 24 hours of applying, so your name lands twice. Then follow up once after seven days and stop.
  7. Track everything in a simple sheet: company, role, date applied, contact, last touch, status. Review it every Friday and drop anything silent for three weeks.

One warning on the entry-level end. Only 1 of these 16 titles looks junior, the "Junior Graphic Designer (all genders)" role at Sunday Natural, so if you are early career, Berlin's design slice is not friendly this month and you should cast wider on seniority labels. Consider contract and agency routes to build the case studies that get you the rest.

FAQ#

How current are these company counts?

They come from the JobRise live jobs feed on 14 October 2026 and count open listings, not hires or headcount. Listings change daily, so recheck before you plan your week around any single role.

Should I apply to recruiters and staffing firms or wait for direct employers?

Apply to both. Recruiters can put you in front of teams you would never reach cold, and the worst case is one extra screening call. Just ask early which client the role is for and what the contract terms are.

Why is no salary listed for these design roles?

None of the 16 listings in this slice shows a pay range, which is common on German job boards despite growing pressure to publish one. Ask for the range in the first call, and check the current official source for any pay transparency rules that apply.

Is German required for design jobs in Berlin?

Not across the board. In this snapshot only the Patronus role explicitly asks for German-speaking, while most others list no language filter in the title. Confirm the working language in the first call, since titles hide it often.

How many design jobs are there outside Berlin?

Germany shows 105 Design listings in total on 14 October 2026, and Berlin holds 16 of them. That leaves 89 across the rest of the country, worth scanning if you are mobile or open to remote work.
