Internships in Germany: Who's Hiring Right Now (Oct 2026)

JobRise Team8 min read

You want an internship in Germany and you want to know who is actually hiring this week, not vague advice about "the market". Here is the real picture, taken from our live feed on 14 October 2026: 341 open internship listings in Germany on the internships jobs hub, 337 of them posted in the last 30 days and 270 in the last 7 days. That is a fast-moving slice. Most of what is open was put up recently, so your timing is good.

One caveat before anything else: these are counts of open listings on JobRise, not a market survey. It is a snapshot of what is on our board on one specific date, and it will shift daily.

Who is hiring, by name#

Bosch Group dominates this slice with 104 open listings. That is roughly a third of everything in the feed, and it tells you where to spend your first evening. Their roles cover a wide span: "Werkstudent Wissensmanagement inkl. LLM Integration für Qualitätsmanagement-Tools (w/m/div.)", "Praktikum im Bereich Einkaufsqualität", "Praktikum im Bereich Marketing, Unternehmenskommunikation und Interne Kommunikation", "Pflichtpraktikum Entwicklung - Kalibrierequipment für Fahrerassistenzsysteme", "Werkstudent*in in der Softwareentwicklung, Python (w/m/div.)", "Working Student in Software Development, Python (f/div.)", and "Praktikum Fertigungsplanung Axialkolbeneinheiten". Engineering, purchasing, marketing, quality, manufacturing planning, software. If your profile fits any of these, Bosch is the single highest-yield target on the board.

Behind Bosch, the field is thinner. Red Bull has 16 open listings. Ramp106 Gmbh and 1Komma5Grad and Ubisoft each show 6. Es Group has 5. Buena and SAP Fioneer have 4 each. WerraEnergie GmbH and DocuWare have 3 each. THE VERSE Ventures GmbH is hiring for "Werkstudent / Pflichtpraktikum Finance & Controlling (m/w/d)". Netzfrequenz GmbH wants a "Praktikant / Werkstudent im Bereich Salesforce (m/w/d)". 7NXT GmbH has a "Social Media Marketing Intern" open.

Note that some of these names are recruiters or staffing firms, not end employers. That is normal in the German market. A recruiter listing can land you a role at a company that never posts directly, so do not skip them.

Where the jobs are#

Berlin leads with 96 open listings. Munich has 33, Hamburg 30, Stuttgart 21, and Gerlingen 15. Gerlingen being that high is a Bosch signal, since it sits right next to their Feuerbach campus. If you are in the Stuttgart region, you have more options than the city count alone suggests.

Practically: if you are mobile, apply in Berlin and Munich first. If you are anchored to one city, filter hard and accept that a Werkstudent role 30 minutes away by S-Bahn is still a real option.

What the job-type mix tells you#

The type breakdown is Full-time 284, Internship 35, Part-time 21, Contract 1. Read that carefully. Only 35 of 341 listings are typed as "Internship". The rest are full-time or part-time postings that are, in practice, filled by Werkstudenten, Praktikanten, or Pflichtpraktikanten. That is exactly how the German market works: the contract type in the system often reflects the employer's template, not the actual role.

What the mix says about the market: this is not a big-tech-only picture. You have a large industrial employer (Bosch Group), a consumer brand (Red Bull), gaming (Ubisoft), fintech software (SAP Fioneer), energy (WerraEnergie GmbH), software for document workflows (DocuWare), a scale-up in home energy (1Komma5Grad), a startup-style studio (Ramp106 Gmbh), and a venture vehicle (THE VERSE Ventures GmbH). Public sector is barely visible in this slice. Agencies and staffing firms appear, which means part of the market is brokered.

Across all categories in Germany, the Hiring Report for Germany shows 1,846 open listings with 1,642 posted in the last 30 days. Internships are a meaningful slice of that, but not the majority. If you widen your search to Werkstudent and Junior roles, your options multiply.

What to do this week#

Apply direct where you can, and mirror the listing's keywords. German job posts are written by HR against a requirement profile, and the first filter is often literal keyword matching. If the listing says "Python" and "Werkstudent", your CV should say "Python" and "Werkstudent", not "coding enthusiast" and "student assistant".

Here is a worked example of rewriting a resume bullet to match a real listing.

Listing: "Werkstudent*in in der Softwareentwicklung, Python (w/m/div.)" at Bosch Group.

Before: "Helped with various programming tasks during my studies."

After: "Softwareentwicklung mit Python in einem Hochschulprojekt: Aufbau einer Datenverarbeitungspipeline für Messdaten, Tests mit pytest, Dokumentation für 3 Mitstudierende."

Same experience. The second version names the language, names the test framework, gives a scope number, and uses the German terms the listing uses. That is the version that gets read.

Checklist for the next seven days:

  • Open the internships jobs hub and shortlist every Bosch Group listing that matches your field, then note the exact German title wording.
  • Pick three non-Bosch targets from the list above and check their career pages directly for roles that are not on any board.
  • Rewrite your CV in German if you are applying to German-language listings, and keep an English version for the international ones like Ubisoft and Red Bull.
  • Mirror the keywords from each listing into your CV and cover letter, one listing at a time. Do not send one generic document everywhere.
  • Run your documents through the free ATS checker at /en/free-ats-checker/ before you send anything. Formatting that looks fine in Word can break an applicant tracking system.
  • If you are a student, confirm whether the role is a Pflichtpraktikum or a freiwilliges Praktikum. That changes your contract, your pay expectations, and sometimes your visa or Krankenversicherung status.
  • Set up saved searches for Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Stuttgart, and Gerlingen, and check them every morning. 270 of 341 listings went up in the last week, so speed matters.

A 7-step plan for the month#

Step 1: Map your field to the companies above. Engineering and software to Bosch Group, 1Komma5Grad, DocuWare, SAP Fioneer. Marketing and communications to Red Bull, 7NXT GmbH, Bosch Group. Finance and controlling to THE VERSE Ventures GmbH. Games to Ubisoft. Energy to WerraEnergie GmbH and Netzfrequenz GmbH.

Step 2: Build one master CV in German with a clear "Praktikum / Werkstudent" line near the top, plus your earliest possible start date and your weekly hours. German employers filter on availability before almost anything else.

Step 3: Write a short Anschreiben template with three paragraphs: who you are, what you can do for this specific team, and your practical details (start date, duration, hours per week, city). Keep it under one page.

Step 4: Apply to all Bosch Group matches first. 104 listings is the largest single pool on the board, and their process is used to handling student applications at volume.

Step 5: Apply to the mid-size targets. Red Bull, Ramp106 Gmbh, 1Komma5Grad, Ubisoft, Es Group, Buena, SAP Fioneer. These move faster than a large corporate, and a good application can land a call within days.

Step 6: Apply to the small and specialist names. WerraEnergie GmbH, DocuWare, Netzfrequenz GmbH, 7NXT GmbH, THE VERSE Ventures GmbH. Fewer listings, less competition, and a higher chance your CV gets read by a human.

Step 7: Track everything in a simple spreadsheet: company, role title as written, date applied, source, follow-up date. Follow up once after ten working days. Then move on.

One reality check#

No listing in this slice shows a salary. That is common for German internship postings, especially at larger companies, where pay is set by internal bands or, in some cases, by a Tarifvertrag. Werkstudent pay in Germany commonly falls somewhere in the range of roughly 13 to 20 euros per hour, and Pflichtpraktikum pay varies widely, but these numbers shift by city, industry, and company size. Check the current official sources and ask directly in the first interview. Never assume a figure.

Visa and work-permit rules for non-EU students also change. Confirm your specific situation with the Ausländerbehörde or your university's international office before you sign anything.

FAQ#

How many internship listings are open in Germany right now?

On 14 October 2026, the JobRise feed shows 341 open listings in the Germany internship slice. 337 were posted in the last 30 days and 270 in the last 7 days, so the pool turns over fast.

Which company has the most internship openings?

Bosch Group has 104 open listings in this slice, by far the largest single employer. Red Bull follows with 16, then Ramp106 Gmbh, 1Komma5Grad, and Ubisoft with 6 each.

Do I need to apply in German?

For German-language listings, yes, apply in German. International employers like Ubisoft or Red Bull often accept English applications, so match the language of the listing itself.

Are Werkstudent roles the same as internships?

Not exactly, but they overlap a lot in practice. In this snapshot only 35 listings are typed as "Internship" while 284 are typed as "Full-time", and many of those full-time postings are filled by Werkstudenten or Praktikanten.

Should I apply to recruiters and staffing firms?

Yes. Some of the names on the board are recruiters rather than end employers, and they can place you in companies that never post publicly. Treat them as one channel among several, not as your only one.
