Remote Finance Jobs Open to UK Applicants (Oct 2026)
You want a remote finance role, but every listing seems to mean something different by "remote", and half of them never say whether a UK applicant is actually eligible. On 14 October 2026, JobRise's live feed showed 20 open remote finance jobs whose listing states that applicants in the United Kingdom are accepted. That is the number to work with this month. It changes daily.
What the snapshot actually shows#
These 20 listings are a dated count of open roles on jobrise.io, not a market survey and not a claim about hiring volume. Fourteen were posted in the last 30 days, and 12 of those landed in the last 7 days. Fresh listings matter here, because remote roles that accept a specific country often close quickly once the applicant pool fills.
The employers behind the count are a mixed group. Coinbase has 3 listings, SAP Fioneer has 2, and Hilo By Aktiia, Northern Trust, RemotePass, Veracross, JoVE, The Very Group, Rentokil Initial Group and Huble have 1 each. Some of these names are recruiters or staffing firms rather than the end employer, so read the fine print before you assume who pays you.
Job types skew heavily toward permanent work: 17 full-time, 2 part-time, 1 contract. Titles run senior. "Financial Controller (m/f/d)" at Hilo By Aktiia, "Consultant - Treasury COO Initiatives" at Northern Trust, "Company Secretary & Entity Manager" at RemotePass, "Global Accounts Director" at Rentokil Initial Group. Only 1 of the 20 looks entry-level, a "Junior Compliance Analyst" at Natterbox Ltd.
One blunt fact: no listing in this slice shows a salary. If pay is your first filter, this batch will frustrate you. Ask about the range early rather than after three interview rounds.

What "remote" means in these listings#
Country-restricted is the most common flavour. The employer hires remotely, but only from a short list of countries, and the UK is on it. That is what these 20 listings have in common.
Time zones still apply. A role posted by a team in Central Europe or the US East Coast usually wants 3 to 5 hours of overlap with their core day. "Remote" rarely means "work any hours you like".
Then comes the contract question. You might be taken on as an employee, sometimes through an employer-of-record that hires you locally on the company's behalf, or as a self-employed contractor invoicing monthly. The day-to-day work looks identical. Your rights, notice period, sick pay and pension do not.
Tax and contract basics#
If you are employed, PAYE and National Insurance are handled for you, and workplace pension auto-enrolment applies. If you invoice as a contractor, you handle your own tax return, set money aside, and get no paid holiday unless the contract says otherwise.
IR35 is the part UK contractors get wrong. It asks whether you are, in tax terms, really an employee of the client. The contract wording matters, but so does the reality of how you work: who controls your hours, whether you can send a substitute, whether you can be moved off the project.
Typical reported day rates for UK finance contractors vary widely by specialism and seniority, and I will not quote a number I cannot stand behind. Check the current rules on the official HMRC site and take advice on your own situation before signing anything.
Scam red flags#
Remote finance roles are prime bait, because the work sounds legitimate and the "employer" is far away. Protect yourself.
- The recruiter contacts you only on WhatsApp or Telegram and will not call or video chat
- You are offered the role before any real interview takes place
- They ask you to buy equipment or gift cards and promise reimbursement later
- Any request to move money through your own bank account, ever, at any stage
- The email domain does not match the company website, and the person cannot be found on the company's own team page
- The offer letter arrives with a salary far above the going rate and pressure to sign today
- They want documents like your passport or bank details before any formal contract exists
None of these is a grey area. Each one alone is enough reason to walk away.
How to stand out in remote applications#
Assume the employer is drowning in applicants who say they are "self-motivated". Prove the boring things instead: that you can work without supervision, communicate in writing, and hit deadlines across time zones.
Show overlap explicitly. State the hours you can commit in their time zone, not just "UK based". Say it in the first two lines of your cover note.
Write bullets that show remote-ready habits. Here is a typical before and after.
Before: "Responsible for month-end close and reporting."
After: "Ran month-end close for 4 entities across 2 time zones on a fixed calendar, publishing the board pack within 5 working days each month, with written status updates the team could read without a meeting."
The second one tells a hiring manager you can be trusted at a distance. That is the whole game.
Run your CV through a free ATS resume checker before you send it. Many remote roles use automated screening first, and a CV that never reaches a human is a wasted hour of your time.
The 7-step plan#
- Set up saved searches for remote finance roles that accept UK applicants, and check them every morning. This slice moved 12 listings in the last week alone.
- Read the eligibility line before you apply. If the listing does not say UK applicants are accepted, do not assume.
- Work out the contract type early. Employee, employer-of-record, or contractor changes your pay, tax and rights, so ask in the first call.
- Rewrite your top three bullets to show autonomy, written communication and deadline discipline.
- Prepare a short written note you can send with every application: your UK location, your overlap hours, and one example of working independently.
- Track applications in a simple spreadsheet: role, date, contract type, salary answer, next step. Remote hiring drags, and you will lose track otherwise.
- Widen the net beyond this slice. There were 2,742 open listings across all categories in the UK on the same date, and browsing Jobs in the United Kingdom shows what else is moving.

FAQ#
Are these 20 roles open to anyone in the UK?
They are open to applicants in the United Kingdom according to the listing text. Whether the employer will sponsor, hire you as a contractor, or use an employer-of-record is a separate question to ask before you invest time.
Why is no salary listed?
None of the 20 listings in this slice shows a salary figure. That is common in finance roles, especially senior ones, so ask for the range in the first conversation rather than at the offer stage.
Can I apply if I am outside the UK?
These 20 listings specifically accept applicants in the United Kingdom. Other remote finance roles on JobRise may have different country rules, so check each listing's eligibility line.
Do I need to be a qualified accountant?
Not for all of them. Titles like "Company Secretary & Entity Manager" at RemotePass or "Financial Crime Specialist" at The Very Group point to different professional paths, so read the requirements rather than guessing from the job family.
How often does this snapshot change?
Daily. The 14 October 2026 figures are a snapshot of open listings on jobrise.io, and 12 of the 20 were posted in the last 7 days, which shows how fast this slice turns over.
