What a cover letter must prove first in Singapore

Recruiters and site managers scan for licenses, hands-on experience, safety record, and keywords. For Welder, your resume should show your tickets or certifications, the equipment and systems you work with, the sites or operations you supported, and the result. A vague list of duties does not help. A specific line with job size, volumes, uptime, on-time rate, cost, or safety incidents works much better.

Check this before sending another application.

  • Pitch
  • Proof
  • Fit
  • Put the exact job title and adjacent titles in your summary.
  • Mirror the top skills from the job description naturally.
  • Use 3 to 5 achievement bullets that show measurable outcomes.
  • Keep formatting simple so ATS software can parse every section.

Resume keywords for Welder

Do not stuff keywords. Put them where they belong: skills, licenses, work history, and certifications. For Welder jobs in Singapore, start with these clusters.

Core skills

trade skills, equipment and tools, ERP or WMS systems, codes, and safety procedures

Results

job size, uptime, on-time delivery, cost per unit, rework, or safety incidents

Collaboration

site leads, crews, contractors, suppliers, inspectors, or customers

Proof

licenses and tickets, apprenticeship hours, OSHA or local safety cards, job sites, or project size

A practical application plan

Write one short reason for fit, one proof point, and one role-specific closing line instead of using a generic template.
  1. Pick 10 active Welder listings in Singapore and save the job descriptions.
  2. Group repeated skills and phrases. Those are your ATS keywords.
  3. Rewrite your resume summary for this exact market and role.
  4. Run the resume and JD through the JobRise ATS checker.
  5. Only apply after your resume clearly matches the must-have requirements.
