Internships in the US: Who's Hiring Right Now (Oct 2026)

JobRise Team7 min read

You want an internship in the US, and you want to know who is actually hiring before you spend a week on applications. Here is the answer, straight from the listings.

JobRise shows 431 open internship listings in the United States right now on the internships jobs hub. This is a snapshot dated 14 October 2026, pulled from live listings, not a market survey. Numbers move. Treat them as a picture of one day.

Who is hiring right now#

Ten employers hold the most open listings in this slice. Some are companies, some are apprenticeship programs or staffing firms, so read the names as they appear on the listings.

  • Isuzu Veterans Apprenticeship Program (IVAP), 96 listings
  • Red Bull, 51
  • Coinbase, 28
  • Palantir, 24
  • Bosch Group, 20
  • Robinhood, 20
  • PIMCO, 19
  • Rebel Convenience Stores, 14
  • Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP), 13
  • Togetherai, 11

Isuzu's program alone accounts for 96 of the 431. If you have military service on your record, that block is worth opening first. Same for Kia's VTAP at 13 listings.

Red Bull is filling a "Sales Trainee" role, which is a field sales track, not a desk job. Expect ride-alongs with sales reps, store visits, and cold outreach. Coinbase, Palantir, Robinhood, and Togetherai point to software and product work. PIMCO at 19 listings signals finance and investment operations, mostly around Newport Beach.

CWILL is not in the top ten, but it is worth knowing. Its listings are R&D trainee roles: "TrackingMore R&D Trainee - Full-Stack Engineer (Backend) - Bilingual Mandarin", "Pop-Up & Email Marketing R&D Trainee - Full-Stack Engineer - Bilingual Mandarin", "Loyalty & Referrals R&D Trainee - Full-Stack Engineer - Bilingual Mandarin", "AI SEO R&D Trainee - Full-Stack Engineer (Go Backend) - Bilingual Mandarin", "AI SEO Product Management Trainee - Bilingual Mandarin Required", "AI Chat R&D Trainee - Full-Stack Engineer (Go Backend) - Bilingual Mandarin", and "AI Chat Product Management Trainee - Bilingual Mandarin Required". The Mandarin requirement is stated in the title. Do not apply without it.

Where the jobs are#

New York leads with 42 listings, San Francisco has 34, Newport Beach 14, Menlo Park 10, and Cary 8. Newport Beach is the PIMCO cluster. Menlo Park is where Palantir and the Bay Area tech crowd sit. Cary, North Carolina is a smaller hub, but it is real.

If you are not in these cities, apply anyway. Many of these roles are open to relocation, and the listing will say so. Filter by city before you filter by anything else, so you do not waste a week on roles that require being on-site in a place you cannot get to.

What the job-type mix tells you#

The mix is odd, and that is the useful part. Of 431 listings, 385 are labeled Full-time, 34 Internship, 7 Part-time, and 5 Intern. Meanwhile, 365 of 431 carry entry-level titles: intern, graduate, junior, trainee, and similar.

So most "internship" listings in this feed are not labeled Internship. They are labeled Full-time but titled Trainee or R&D Trainee. Read titles, not categories. If you filter only for the Internship tag, you will see 34 listings and miss the other 397.

The mix says three things about the market. Big tech and fintech (Coinbase, Palantir, Robinhood, Togetherai, Ramp) hire interns in batches, mostly engineering. Consumer brands and apprenticeship programs (Isuzu IVAP, Kia VTAP, Red Bull, Rebel Convenience Stores) run structured trainee tracks with real headcount. Agencies and staffing firms sit underneath some of these names, so confirm who signs your paycheck before you accept.

Public sector is thin in this snapshot. If you want government work, this is not the feed for it right now.

What the pay looks like#

Only 5 of 431 listings show pay. All five are Ramp, and all five read the same: "Software Engineering Intern, iOS", "Software Engineering Intern, Android", "Software Engineer Internship, Frontend", "Applied Scientist Intern", and "Software Engineering Intern, Backend", each posted at $12.5K per month. The Backend role also lists "Offers Equity".

Take that as one employer's posted number, not a market rate. For context, the wider picture is 13,720 open listings across all categories in the United States, with 8,471 posted in the last 30 days, per the Hiring Report for the United States. Internship pay varies a lot by city, industry, and whether housing or relocation is covered. Verify the current official posting or the employer's careers page before you plan around any number.

How to apply this week#

Apply direct whenever you can. Company career pages beat job boards for speed, and you skip the middle layer. When a listing is from a staffing firm, ask who the end employer is before you invest time.

Mirror the listing's keywords. If the posting says "Full-Stack Engineer (Go Backend)", use that exact phrase on your resume when it describes you. If it says "Bilingual Mandarin Required", list your Mandarin level in the skills line. Applicant tracking systems match on words.

Run your resume through the free ATS checker before you hit submit. It takes a minute and it catches formatting that silently drops you out of the pile.

Worked example: a resume bullet

CWILL's "AI SEO R&D Trainee - Full-Stack Engineer (Go Backend)" wants Go, SEO tooling, and full-stack work. A weak bullet:

"Worked on web projects for a class."

Rewritten to match the posting:

"Built a Go backend that served 40 pages of SEO metadata from a Postgres table; wrote the React front end that edited it, for a class project with 3 teammates."

Same experience. The second version names Go, backend, front end, and SEO, which is what the listing asks for. Only write what you actually did.

7-step plan

  • Pick 10 listings from the top employers above, plus 5 stretch roles you would take if offered.
  • Copy each listing's title and required keywords into a spreadsheet column next to your resume bullets.
  • Rewrite 3 resume bullets per role using the exact words from the posting, keeping every claim true.
  • Run the resume through the free ATS checker, fix what it flags, then export as PDF.
  • Apply direct on the employer's site first. Use the job board only if there is no direct route.
  • Send a short note to a recruiter or a team member at the company after you apply. Two sentences, no fluff.
  • Track every application with a date, a contact name, and a follow-up date one week out.

Do this for 15 roles in one week and you will beat most applicants, who send three applications and wait.

FAQ#

How current are these numbers?

They are a snapshot of open listings on 14 October 2026, from the JobRise live jobs feed. Counts change daily as listings open and close, so check the hub for today's numbers before you plan.

Should I only apply to roles labeled Internship?

No. Only 34 of 431 listings carry the Internship tag, but 365 use entry-level titles like trainee or graduate. Filter by title and description, not by category.

Do I need Mandarin for the CWILL roles?

Yes. Every CWILL listing in this snapshot states "Bilingual Mandarin Required" or "Bilingual Mandarin" in the title. Do not apply without it.

Are the apprenticeship programs open to non-veterans?

The Isuzu IVAP and Kia VTAP names point to veteran-focused tracks. Read the listing text for eligibility, or ask the program directly before applying.

How much can I expect to be paid?

Only 5 of 431 listings in this snapshot show pay, all at Ramp, all at $12.5K per month. That is one employer's posted rate. Pay varies widely by city and industry, so verify the current official posting before making plans.
