Operations Salary and Job Market in France 2026
You are looking at operations roles in France and you cannot find a single posted salary to anchor on. That is normal here. Employers in France rarely put pay in the job ad, so you have to build your own range before you ever talk numbers.
Here is what the market looks like right now, and how to walk into an offer talk prepared.
What the job market looks like#
As a dated snapshot on 14 October 2026, the JobRise live jobs feed shows 64 open Operations jobs in France. Of those, 50 were posted in the last 30 days, and 33 in the last 7 days. That is a moving feed, not a market survey, so treat it as a picture of one board on one day.
The slice skews hard to Paris: 30 of the 64 listings. Then Massy (5), Montpellier (4), Lille (3), and Toulouse (2). If you are outside those cities, expect fewer options and more remote or hybrid talk.
By contract type, 58 are full-time, 3 part-time, and 3 contract. So if you need a permanent contract (CDI), most of this slice fits, but read each listing.

Who is hiring#
The companies with the most open operations listings on that snapshot date: APM Monaco (9), Sézane (9), Excelya (7), Ubisoft (5), Quandela (5), Next Job Abroad (5), Exotec (2), A2MAC1 (2), DataOne (2), and Datadog (2). Some of these are recruiters or staffing firms, so the end employer may differ from the name on the ad.
Sample titles give you a feel for the spread: "Ingénieur Projet Protection Incendie H/F" and "Ingénieur Projet Génie Civil & Construction H/F" at Excelya, "CSV Analyst (H/F) - CDD (12 mois)" at Norgine, "Technicien Transport Logistique - F/H" at Corwave, "License Owner & Operator, Paris" at Stranger Soccer, and retail-facing roles like "Conseiller/ère de Vente (H/F) - CDD Temps-Plein - Paris Saint-Honoré" at APM Monaco. "Operations" here covers project engineering, quality and CSV, logistics, and store operations. Titles vary a lot. Search by function, not just the word "operations".
For wider country context, the JobRise Hiring Report: France shows 465 open listings across all categories, with 345 posted in the last 30 days. Operations is a slice of that, not the whole picture.
The salary question#
No listing in this operations slice shows a salary. Zero out of 64. That is the reality you are negotiating against: you will be the one putting the first number on the table, so you need a range ready.
Typical reported ranges vary widely by seniority, city, and industry. As rough orientation only, and not a promise of any offer, candidates in France commonly report roughly 2,200 to 3,000 EUR per month gross for junior or assistant operations roles, 3,200 to 4,800 EUR per month gross for experienced specialist or project roles, and 5,000 to 7,500 EUR per month gross for manager or head-level roles. Paris pays toward the top; regions usually sit lower. These are not from the JobRise data, which shows no pay at all, so verify against current official sources and your own offers before you rely on them.
How pay works in France#
A few norms matter when you compare offers.
Gross salary (salaire brut) is what gets quoted. Net is lower after employee social contributions and income tax withholding. Always confirm which figure a recruiter means.
A 13th month (13ème mois) is common in some sectors and employers, either contractual or discretionary. Ask whether it is guaranteed in the contract.
Annual bonus (prime) varies: some roles have a target percentage, some have nothing. Get the target in writing.
Company benefits can include meal vouchers (tickets restaurant), transport reimbursement, health insurance (mutuelle, where the employer share is set by law), and sometimes profit sharing or equity in listed or startup firms. Details differ by employer.
For the legal side: minimum wage (SMIC), social contribution rates, and income tax rules are set by the state and change over time. Do not rely on numbers you read in a blog. Check the official source, such as service-public.fr or urssaf.fr, for the current figures.
Negotiating the offer#
Do this before the first call, not after the offer lands.
- Build your range from three anchors: the posted range if any, what peers in similar roles report, and your current or most recent pay.
- Decide your walk-away number and write it down.
- Ask early: "Quelle est la fourchette de salaire prévue pour ce poste?" It saves everyone time.
- When an offer comes, ask for the full package in writing: base, bonus target, 13th month if any, benefits, and review timing.
- Never accept on the spot. Say you want 48 hours to review.
A worked example. Suppose they offer 42,000 EUR per year gross, no bonus, meal vouchers, and a mutuelle. You wanted 46,000 EUR per year gross. Here is a script you can use:
"Merci pour cette offre. Le poste me motive. Sur la rémunération, je visais plutôt une fourchette autour de 46 000 EUR par an, en me basant sur mon expérience en gestion de projet et sur les niveaux du marché. Est-ce qu'on peut regarder ce point ensemble?"
If they cannot move on base, ask about the bonus target, the 13th month, a review at six months, or extra leave. Sometimes the base is fixed but the rest is not.

Before you apply#
- Filter by city and contract type first, so you do not waste calls on roles you cannot take.
- Rewrite your CV bullets to show scope: team size, budget, volume, and the result you delivered.
- Prepare two numbers: your target and your minimum, both monthly or yearly gross.
- Line up one reference who can speak to how you run operations day to day.
- Check the official sources for the current SMIC and contribution rules before you compare offers.
FAQ#
What is a realistic operations salary in France in 2026?
It depends on seniority and city. Junior or assistant roles often sit around 2,200 to 3,000 EUR per month gross, experienced specialist or project roles around 3,200 to 4,800 EUR per month gross, and manager roles around 5,000 to 7,500 EUR per month gross. These are orientation figures only, since the JobRise snapshot shows no posted pay. Verify against current official sources and live offers.
Why do so few French job ads show a salary?
Employers in France often prefer to learn your expectations first, and pay is negotiated case by case. That is why none of the 64 operations listings in the 14 October 2026 snapshot showed a number. You have to bring your own range to the conversation.
Is the 13th month guaranteed?
Not always. Some contracts guarantee it, others make it discretionary. Ask directly whether it is written into the contract, and get the answer in the offer letter before you sign.
Should I quote gross or net when I state my expectations?
Quote gross, either monthly or yearly, and say which. Recruiters in France quote gross. If you quote net, say so explicitly to avoid confusion.
Can I negotiate benefits if the base salary is fixed?
Yes. Bonus target, 13th month, meal vouchers, extra leave, remote days, and a six-month review are all fair to discuss. Ask in writing and get any agreement reflected in the final contract.
