Singapore Salary Guide 2026: Monthly Pay by Field and Role

JobRise9 min read

You have sent out a lot of applications and heard back from only a few. Then a recruiter asks what you expect, and you have no idea what is fair. Without a clear picture of what employers in Singapore are paying, it is easy to name a number that is too low or too high.

As of November 5, 2026, the median advertised pay in Singapore is SGD 4,000 a month, or SGD 48,600 a year. The middle half of ads sit between SGD 37,800 and SGD 69,000 a year. These numbers come from 70,838 job ads that state a pay range.

Where these numbers come from#

JobRise tracks open jobs from employer career pages and public job boards. This guide uses only the ads that state a pay range in Singapore dollars with a clear pay period. Repeat ads from the same employer count once, so one company posting the same role ten times does not tilt the results.

Almost all of the 70,838 ads come from MyCareersFuture, the government job portal, which accounts for 70,761 of them. The rest come from Himalayas (36), Ashby (35) and Lever (6).

Each number is the midpoint of the posted range. Yearly pay is the hourly figure times 2,080 hours, or the monthly figure times 12. Values are rounded to the nearest 100. Those are the only conversions used in this guide.

Two limits matter here:

  • These are advertised numbers. They show what employers put in the ad, not what people are paid after negotiation.
  • This is not a salary survey. Nobody was asked what they earn.

Singapore salary by field: monthly pay first#

The table below shows the fields with 50 or more ads. Monthly pay comes first, since that is how most Singapore ads are written.

Product leads at SGD 8,500 a month, followed by Data / AI at SGD 8,000 and Software Dev at SGD 7,500. Engineering has the most ads in the table, 6,925, with a median of SGD 4,800 a month. That is a big pool, but the median is well below the tech fields.

The bottom of the table needs a note. Internship has the lowest median, at SGD 2,400 a month, but internships are a different kind of job, so compare it with care. Among full fields, Cleaning & Facilities is lowest at SGD 2,700 a month.

Categories come from job titles and departments, using keyword rules. A field label is a best guess from the wording of the ad.

Singapore salary by role#

Job titles give a closer view than fields. This table covers a selection of roles with 30 or more ads.

Which roles pay most and least

Data scientist / ML engineer has the highest median in the table, at SGD 8,800 a month or SGD 105,000 a year. Product manager and doctor / physician come close, at SGD 8,500 a month each.

Software engineer / developer is the strongest tech role by volume. It has 1,528 ads, the most of any tech role in the table, with a median of SGD 7,000 a month. Its middle half runs from SGD 66,000 to SGD 108,000 a year.

At the other end, Cleaner has the lowest median at SGD 2,300 a month. Healthcare assistant / care worker is next, at SGD 2,400 a month.

Doctor / physician shows why the median is not the whole story. The median is SGD 102,400 a year, but the middle half runs from SGD 60,000 to SGD 168,000. The ads do not say which factor drives that spread.

Employers in the salary sample#

These are the employers with the most salaried ads in the sample, with at least 15 ads each.

MANPOWER STAFFING SERVICES (SINGAPORE) PTE LTD23060,000
NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF SINGAPORE20575,000

Several of the biggest names are recruitment or HR firms. RECRUIT EXPRESS, WECRUIT and MANPOWER STAFFING have recruitment or staffing in the name, and THE SUPREME HR ADVISORY is an HR firm. The data counts the employer named on the posting, so these firms show up as the employer.

That means a recruiter's median is the pay the agency advertises, not necessarily the pay of the company that will use you. When you get an offer through an agency, ask who will employ you and how the pay is set.

A university and a consulting firm close the list, each with a median of SGD 75,000 a year.

How to use these numbers in a salary talk#

  1. Anchor on the middle half, not the top. For a software engineer, the middle half is SGD 66,000 to SGD 108,000 a year. A number inside that range is easy to defend. A number at the top of the range needs a reason, such as a rare skill or a strong track record.
  2. Ask for the range early. Before you name a figure, ask, "What is the budget for this role?" If the employer gives a range, you know where to aim.
  3. Check the ad's own range. The medians here are midpoints of posted ranges. If the ad you are looking at has a range, read the whole range and the pay period before you respond.
  4. Compare in the same unit. Most Singapore ads are monthly. If an offer is written yearly, divide or multiply in your own notes so you compare monthly base pay with monthly base pay.

What to do this week#

  1. Find your field and role in the tables above. Write down the median monthly figure and the middle half for your role. That is your starting range.
  2. Check the employer before you apply. If the name says recruiter, ask who will employ you before you accept an offer.
  3. Match your resume to the ad. Run your resume through the free ATS resume check against one posting you want.
  4. Browse live listings. Start with Singapore jobs and look for ads that state a pay range, since those are the ones this data is built from.
  5. Prepare your number. Use the salary negotiation helper before your next call, so you walk in with a range and a reason.
  6. Read the wider picture. The Singapore job market 2026 post covers fields, employers and skills, and the Singapore hiring report shows where open jobs sit.

Employers name skills in their ads, and some skills show up far more often than others. The Singapore skills page shows which ones are in demand, so you can check your resume against them.

Start your salary talk with a number you can defend#

The median in this guide is a starting point, not a target. Your own range depends on your field, your experience, and the employer. But a number based on real ads is much better than a guess made on the spot.
