Guess first, no penalty. In one manual, the MT draft translates "torque wrench" three different ways. Why does that matter?
Terminology means the agreed words for a client's concepts. A glossary is the list of those terms in both languages. MT tools don't know your client's glossary unless you give it to them, so they may pick a different word each time.
CAT (computer-assisted translation) tools like Trados and memoQ can suggest terms from your glossaries and reuse sentences you translated before. You still accept or reject each one.
A term check prompt
A prompt is the message you type into the tool.

Here is a source text and its translation: [paste both].
For every glossary term in the source, quote how the translation renders it.
Flag any term translated differently from the glossary,
and any term translated two different ways.
Don't rewrite anything.
Preencha as lacunas
