Write a shift handover from voice notes

Module 1: What AI already does on the floor

Course outline

Quick check

Guess first, no penalty. You dictate rough notes at the end of a shift and ask AI for a handover note. What's it most likely to add on its own?

A handover note (what the next shift needs to know) is where problems either get passed on or get lost. Writing it at the end of a long shift is a chore, and an AI chat tool (an app that writes text from your instructions) can turn two minutes of voice notes into a clear note.

The risk is in what it adds. Give it fixed headings and one rule: no causes, times or numbers you didn't say.

A worked example

A prompt is the message you type to the AI:

Turn my notes into a short shift handover with these headings:
Line or zone, What happened, What I did, What's still open,
What the next shift should watch.
Do not add any cause, time or number I didn't give you.
Write "confirm" wherever a detail is missing.
My notes: zone C conveyor jammed twice, 10:40 and 13:15, lead cleared
both. Warning on screen said motor temp high around 13:00. Scanner 4
battery dying. Two pallets of returns not put away.

The note comes back with "confirm: was the warning reported to maintenance?", because you never said. That line is the most useful one in it.

Question 1 of 2

Your AI handover says "jams caused by a worn belt". You never said what caused them. What do you do?
