Guess first, no penalty. AI cleans a 2,000-row expense export for you. Afterwards the total is $1,240 lower than before. What's the most likely cause?
An export is data copied out of a system, like your accounting software, into a spreadsheet. Exports are messy: dates in three formats, amounts stored as text, some figures in thousands, rows that appear twice.
AI cleans this fast. The risk is what "cleaning" quietly does. It can delete a duplicate (a row that appears twice) that was really two real payments, or turn "1,200" into 1.2 when it guesses the wrong format.
So use one rule for every cleanup. Count the rows and total the amount column before and after. If either number moved, every difference needs a reason you can point to. And ask the tool to flag duplicates in a new column instead of deleting them, so you decide.
