Operations Manager Jobs in Dubai 2026

You are applying for operations manager roles in Dubai and getting silence back, even though your CV looks fine on paper. The market is real, but it is crowded, fast-moving, and very particular about what "operations" means in a UAE job title. Here is what is actually happening in 2026 and how to work with it.

Who is hiring operations managers in Dubai#

Logistics and supply chain is still the biggest employer. Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai South, and the airport corridor generate steady demand for warehouse, fleet, last-mile, and 3PL operations roles. If you have handled shift planning, safety compliance, or cost per unit, you are in a strong position.

Retail and e-commerce is the second pool. Regional chains and marketplaces hire operations managers to run dark stores, fulfilment centres, and store networks. The work is fast, the turnover is high, and the job titles vary wildly for the same job.

Facilities management, hospitality, healthcare, and construction support functions hire too. FM companies in particular run large contracts across the UAE and need people who can manage subcontractors, SLAs, and client reporting. Manufacturing is smaller but stable, mostly around Dubai Industrial City and the wider UAE.

Tech and fintech companies use "operations manager" differently. Sometimes it means back-office and vendor management. Sometimes it means a chief-of-staff style role. Read the job description closely before you apply.

Where jobs actually get posted#

LinkedIn is still the main channel for mid and senior operations roles in Dubai. Set your location to Dubai, turn on the "Open to work" signal for recruiters only if you want privacy, and check postings daily. Fresh listings matter more here than in most markets.

Bayt, Naukrigulf, and Indeed UAE carry volume, especially for local hires. Company career pages are worth the extra effort for large employers in logistics, FM, hospitality, and retail groups. Recruitment agencies handle a share of senior roles, but they call you when they need you, so treat them as a bonus, not a plan.

You can scan live openings across these channels in one place on our job board. For tailoring, our free JD decoder helps you see what a posting is really asking for before you rewrite your CV.

What the hiring process looks like#

Most Dubai employers run a five-stage process: recruiter screen, hiring manager interview, technical or case task, senior stakeholder round, then offer and background check. Total time from first call to signed offer is often three to six weeks. Some multinationals stretch to eight.

Two things catch candidates off guard. First, many recruiters ask for your current salary and expected salary early, before any real interview. Decide your number in advance and give a range, not a single figure.

Second, the visa and relocation timeline is not instant. Most roles come with an employment visa sponsored by the employer, but the paperwork takes weeks and the medical and Emirates ID steps happen after you land. Nothing is guaranteed until the offer letter and contract are signed.

Salary ranges, with a reality check#

For an operations manager in Dubai, reported ranges in 2025 and 2026 typically fall between AED 18,000 and AED 35,000 per month for mid-level roles. Senior operations managers and heads of operations often land between AED 35,000 and AED 60,000 per month. Logistics and FM roles sit at the lower to mid end; multinational corporate operations and regional roles pay higher.

These numbers vary a lot by industry, company size, and whether the package includes housing, transport, and schooling allowances. Some offers quote a lower base with big allowances, others quote a higher base with almost nothing else. Compare the total annual package, not just the monthly salary.

Verify the current figures against official sources before you negotiate. The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation publishes wage and labour guidance, and free zone authorities have their own rules. Ranges shift with the market.

Cost of living, so you can judge the offer#

Rent is the single biggest line item. A one-bedroom apartment in a central area like Business Bay or JLT commonly runs AED 6,000 to AED 10,000 per month. Move to JVC, Al Furjan, or Dubai South and the same apartment can drop to AED 4,000 to AED 6,500.

School fees are the other big one if you have children. A mid-range international school can cost AED 30,000 to AED 70,000 per child per year, and good schools book out early. Some employers cover schooling, most do not cover it in full.

Day-to-day costs are manageable. Groceries for two people run around AED 2,000 to AED 3,000 per month, fuel is cheap by global standards, and there is no personal income tax on salary in the UAE. Car ownership is close to a necessity outside the metro corridor. Run the numbers against your actual offer before you sign anything.

A worked example: rewriting one CV bullet#

Most operations CVs read like job descriptions. Here is how to fix one line.

Before: "Responsible for warehouse operations and team management across two sites."

After: "Cut order fulfilment time from 26 to 18 hours across two Dubai warehouses by redesigning pick paths and shift handovers, holding headcount flat at 45 staff."

Same job, different signal. The second version names the problem, the action, the result, and the scope. Do this for every bullet on your CV and your reply rate will change.

The 7-step application plan#

  • Pick your lane. Logistics, retail, FM, hospitality, or corporate operations. Do not apply across all five at once, because your CV will read generic to each.
  • Rewrite your CV for the lane, with quantified bullets and a short summary at the top that names your industry and your scale in staff, budget, or sites.
  • Run your CV through our free ATS checker to catch formatting issues that break parsing before a human ever reads it.
  • Build a target list of 30 to 40 Dubai employers in your lane and check their career pages weekly, not just the big boards.
  • Apply within 48 hours of a posting going live, and send a short LinkedIn note to the recruiter or hiring manager the same week.
  • Prepare your salary number, your notice period, and your visa status answers before the first recruiter call. Write them down.
  • Track every application in a simple spreadsheet: company, role, date applied, contact name, last action, next step. Review it every Friday.

How to handle the recruiter salary question#

When a recruiter asks "what are you looking for", give a range tied to the market. A script that works: "Based on the scope of this role and current Dubai market rates for operations managers in logistics, I would be looking at the AED 28,000 to 32,000 per month range for the base, and I am open to discussing the total package including allowances." Then stop talking and let them respond.

If they push for your current salary, you can share it, but always frame the jump. Say "my current base is X, and I am looking for a move that reflects the larger scope in this role." Do not apologise for wanting more.

FAQ#

Do I need to be in Dubai to get hired for operations manager roles?

No, but it is harder from abroad. Some employers will interview remotely and sponsor a relocation, especially for niche or senior roles. Many local recruiters still prefer candidates who are already in the UAE and available within 30 days.

How long does an employment visa take in Dubai?

Once you sign an offer, the employer starts the process, which typically takes four to eight weeks including medical screening and Emirates ID. The work permit and residency are sponsored by the employer. Confirm the timeline with your specific employer because free zone and mainland processes differ.

Is an MBA or PMP required for operations manager jobs in Dubai?

Not usually. Employers care more about your industry track record, team size, and cost or efficiency results. A PMP or Six Sigma certification helps for logistics and FM roles, but it will not replace real operational scope.

Can I negotiate allowances like housing and schooling separately from base salary?

Yes, and you should. Many Dubai packages are structured as base plus housing, transport, and sometimes schooling allowances, and there is often room to shift the split even when the total is fixed. Ask for the full breakdown before you accept.

What is the realistic timeline from first application to starting work?

For an overseas candidate, eight to sixteen weeks is common from first application to first day. Local candidates can move faster, sometimes four to six weeks. Build your finances around the slower end so you are not pressured into a bad offer.
