UAE Job Market 2026: Fields, Cities and Skills
Thinking about a job in the UAE but wondering if the market is big enough to bother with from abroad? That worry is fair. As of November 5, 2026, JobRise tracks 2,286 open jobs in the United Arab Emirates. That is a small pool next to large markets such as Germany or the United States, so every application needs to be well aimed. The numbers below show where the jobs are, which skills they name, and what the data cannot tell you.
The headline numbers: 968 of the 2,286 open jobs (42%) were posted in the last 30 days, and 187 (8.2%) in the last 7 days. So a real share of the pool is recent, even though the pool itself is small.
What this data covers#
These are jobs JobRise tracks from employer career pages and public job boards, as of November 5, 2026. It is not the whole UAE job market. It is only what these sources list, so treat every count as a snapshot.
JobRise started tracking on October 14, 2026. New-job counts only go back that far, and 118 jobs that were already open then have no known posting date, so they are left out of those counts. The full report is at /en/reports/hiring/united-arab-emirates/.

When the UAE jobs were posted#
The daily chart runs from October 7 to November 5. Most days show between 4 and 50 new jobs. The one clear outlier is October 15, with 196 new jobs.
A spike like that usually means JobRise added a new job source that day. It does not mean employers suddenly started hiring, so do not plan your week around it. The last bar, November 5, is a partial day.
UAE job market 2026 by field#
Sales is the largest field, with 280 open jobs (12% of the total). Finance (8.7%) and engineering (7.7%) come next, with operations and software close behind.
| Field | Open jobs | Share of open jobs |
|---|---|---|
| Sales | 280 | 12% |
| Finance | 198 | 8.7% |
| Engineering | 175 | 7.7% |
| Operations | 164 | 7.2% |
| Software | 163 | 7.1% |
| Marketing | 133 | 5.8% |
| Data and AI | 114 | 5% |
| Hospitality | 98 | 4.3% |
| Design | 69 | 3% |
| Healthcare | 65 | 2.8% |
Two notes on that table. Categories come from job titles and departments using keyword rules, so a label is a best guess from the wording. Also, "Other" holds 450 jobs (20%) that the rules could not classify. It is not a field, so it is not in the table.
If you work in software, be realistic. 163 software jobs is a small pool in this market. Python and SQL are growing in the skills data (more on that below), so a software background that uses those tools will get more attention than a generic tech resume.
Where the UAE jobs are: cities and employers#
Dubai has 1,125 open jobs, which is 49% of the total. Abu Dhabi is next with 296 (13%). Sharjah and Ras Al-Khaimah each have under 2% of the openings, so a search outside those two cities will miss most of the market.
Two labels in the city list are not places. "UAE Only" covers 217 jobs (9.5%) and "All Nationalities" covers 43 (1.9%). The report does not say what each label means for an applicant, so read the eligibility text on those postings before you apply.
The top 15 employers hold 50% of all open jobs, so a few employers account for half of the listings. These are the biggest:
| Employer | Open jobs | Share of open jobs |
|---|---|---|
| Government of Dubai | 260 | 11% |
| Parsons | 129 | 5.6% |
| Apt Resources | 102 | 4.5% |
| Majid Al Futtaim | 97 | 4.2% |
| MIRA CONSTRUCTION L.L.C | 96 | 4.2% |
| First Abu Dhabi Bank | 81 | 3.5% |
| United Al Saqer Group | 61 | 2.7% |
The report counts the employer named on the posting. Apt Resources is a staffing firm, so its roles show under its own name, not the name of the hotel or company that will employ you. Ask who the employer is before you accept an offer.
Read the title before you apply#
Some title patterns in the UAE data matter a lot for expats. Here is what the data shows.
- Some titles limit the role to UAE nationals or Emirati talent. Examples are "Retail Banking Officer - Credit Cards (UAE Nationals)" at Emirates NBD and "Emirati Talent - Customer Service Coordinator" at Majid Al Futtaim. If you are not a UAE national, the title alone tells you the role may not be open to you.
- Some titles name a country outside the UAE. Apt Resources lists roles such as "Seasonal Job for a Luxury Hotel - Europe", and one role is titled "Junior Project Manager (Dubai-based company, Georgian market)". Read the location line, not just the title.
- The data does not show who can apply to government roles. Government of Dubai has the most openings in this report, but the report does not say what nationality, residency or experience rules apply.
Skills UAE employers ask for in 2026#
Skills are ranked by the number of companies whose open jobs name them, so one employer's copied text cannot push a skill to the top. The 30-day change compares the skill's share of jobs posted in the last 30 days with its share in the 30 days before.
| Skill | Companies | Open jobs | 30-day change |
|---|---|---|---|
| English | 111 | 248 | -20% |
| Negotiation | 80 | 148 | -15% |
| CRM | 76 | 172 | -15% |
| Arabic | 72 | 115 | -9.8% |
| Project management | 64 | 140 | -25% |
| Stakeholder management | 63 | 162 | -41% |
| Python | 61 | 96 | +61% |
| Excel | 56 | 129 | +20% |
| Procurement | 56 | 125 | +19% |
| Forecasting | 53 | 80 | -24% |
Sales and customer service skills show up across the market. Negotiation and CRM both appear in sales roles, and customer service is named in 170 open jobs (7.4%), which is more than its place in the top ten suggests. If your background is in sales or customer service, use these exact terms in your resume where they are true.
English and Arabic demand in the UAE#
English is the most-named skill in the UAE data. 111 employers ask for it across 248 open jobs. Arabic is named by 72 employers across 115 open jobs.
English is useful for an expat, but the trend is down. Its 30-day change is -20%, so fewer of the newest jobs name it than the jobs posted before them.
| Field | English (employers / open jobs) | Arabic (employers / open jobs) |
|---|---|---|
| Sales | 39 / 56 | 23 / 29 |
| Finance | 17 / 23 | not in top list |
| Marketing | 15 / 20 | 10 / 15 |
| Operations | 15 / 18 | 9 / 9 |
| Customer support | 7 / 8 | 5 / 6 |
A skill named in a posting is not a fluency rule. The data does not show the English or Arabic level asked for, and it cannot tell "Arabic preferred" apart from "Arabic required". Read the exact language line on each posting before you apply.
Rising skills#
JobRise marks a skill as rising when it is up more than 25%, in at least 50 open jobs, at 20 or more companies. Two skills qualify in the UAE data:
- Python: 61 companies, 96 open jobs, +61% in 30 days.
- SQL: 40 companies, 68 open jobs, +26% in 30 days.
Both are data and analytics skills. Rising means more job posts name them, not that they pay more. If you already work with data, put Python or SQL on your resume only where you have actually used them.
Remote share for expats#
Of the 1,378 jobs from sources that mark whether a role is remote, 297 are remote. That is 22%.
Read that number carefully. The report counts remote roles limited to applicants in the UAE, so a remote job here does not mean an employer will hire you to work from another country. Also, the 22% leaves out jobs from sources that do not say whether they are remote. Workable (682 jobs), Oracle Recruiting (121) and Phenom (97) are in that group.
Visas and language: check each posting#
This data does not show visa sponsorship, residence visa rules, work permit steps, salary ranges or the language level each employer needs. JobRise cannot answer those questions from job listings alone.
Check the visa and language line on every posting. Then check official UAE government sources for the current rules before you give up a job or plan a move. Do not assume that a posting in Dubai comes with visa support.
What to do this week#
- Start in Dubai. It has 1,125 of the 2,286 open jobs, and Abu Dhabi (296) is the second search to run.
- Skip titles that limit roles to UAE nationals unless you qualify.
- Check the visa and language line on every posting before you apply.
- Put the skills employers name into your resume where they are true: English, negotiation, CRM, and Python or SQL if you use them. Use the exact term from the posting.
- Run one posting through the free ATS check, then read how to tailor your resume for each job.
- Paste any hard posting into the job description decoder. Browse live listings at /en/jobs/in/united-arab-emirates/, and skills by field at /en/skills/united-arab-emirates/.
If you are moving to the UAE from abroad#
The short version: the pool is small, 22% of the jobs that say whether they are remote are remote for UAE applicants, English is the most-named skill, and the data says nothing about visas. Use it to choose roles and skills from wherever you are now, then verify every detail on the posting and with official sources.
For the outreach side, read how to write a cold email to a recruiter. For role-specific letters, use the cover letter tool.
