The 3 parts of a good prompt

Module 2: Get useful answers

Course outline

Quick check

Guess first, no penalty. Which message to the AI will get the more useful answer?

A prompt is the message you send to an AI. A short prompt gets a general answer. A useful one has three parts:

  • Task: what you want done. Start with an action word: write, explain, fix, list.
  • Context: facts the AI can't know. Who you are, what happened, who will read it.
  • Format: what the answer should look like. How long, how many points, which language.
