Quick check
Guess first, no penalty. An AI chat tool and the official Make it in Germany page give different EU Blue Card salary thresholds. Which do you use?
An AI chat tool is an app that writes answers to what you type. Make it in Germany is the German government's official portal for international workers. The EU Blue Card is a residence permit for qualified workers, and whether you get one depends on the job offer and salary.
Here are the two numbers people ask about most, from the official pages. For 2026, Make it in Germany lists a gross annual salary (before tax) of at least €50,700 for the EU Blue Card, or at least €45,934.20 in shortage occupations and for people who finished their degree less than three years ago, with approval from the Federal Employment Agency. The Federal Foreign Office lists the fee for a national visa for longer stays as €75.
If an AI tool, an agent or a video gives you a different number, the official page wins. Check the date on it too. For a salary expectation, the tool is guessing: use the Federal Employment Agency's Entgeltatlas (official pay data, in German).
