Quick check
Guess first, no penalty. Which line in your request to an AI tool keeps it from inventing a skill you don't have?
An AI chat tool is an app that writes answers to what you type. A prompt is the message you send it. A cover letter is the letter that comes with your application. With your three examples and your CV (the document that lists your jobs, education and skills) ready, this prompt gets a one-page draft:
Write a cover letter for the job ad below, for a company in Germany.
Rules:
- One page, three paragraphs: why I want this job, why I fit it,
why this company.
- In paragraph 2, use only the three examples I give you, matched to
the requirements in the ad.
- In paragraph 3, use only the company facts I give you.
- Formal and polite, plain words, no "exciting opportunity" or
"keen interest".
- Do not mention any skill, language level or result I did not give you.
Put [confirm] where you need a fact you don't have.
Job ad: [paste]
My three examples: [paste]
What I know about the company: [paste]
My CV: [paste]
Here the tool does the wording. It tightens your reason in paragraph 1, matches your examples to the ad's keywords, shortens and polishes paragraph 3, and writes the standard close. You bring the facts, and each [confirm] is one for you to fill in.
Fill the gaps
Fill the gaps so the draft sticks to your facts.
