Explaining one number well is a skill AI doesn't replace, because the reason behind the number usually lives outside the data: a client call, a price change, a holiday.
Use four parts, in this order:
- The number, with its comparison: up or down on what?
- The main reason, in one sentence.
- The caveat: what the number doesn't show, or how sure you are.
- The next step: what you expect, or what you'd like them to decide.
