Finance Jobs in the UK: Who's Hiring Right Now (Oct 2026)
135 finance jobs are open in the United Kingdom right now, and 76 of them were posted in the last week alone. The tricky part is knowing which employers are actually moving and where to send your CV first. This snapshot, taken on 14 October 2026 from the JobRise live jobs feed, shows exactly that.
What the snapshot shows#
On 14 October 2026, the finance jobs hub for the United Kingdom listed 135 open finance roles. 102 of them landed in the last 30 days, and 76 in the last 7 days.
That ratio matters. Roughly three quarters of the market is fresh. Old listings are fewer, and they are likelier to be stale or already filled. Sort by date and work from the newest postings.

Who is hiring#
Barnett Waddingham has 11 open listings, the largest single block in the slice. Three of those are graduate investment analyst roles for 2027, in Liverpool, Birmingham and Cheltenham. If you are early career, this is the clearest single entry point in the data.
Zopa follows with 6 listings, including a Senior Technical Accountant role. Lane Clark & Peacock has 5. Nomura has 4, and one of them is Investment Banker, Greentech Industrials & Infrastructure at Senior Associate or VP level, which tells you the bank is hiring mid-to-senior rather than at the bottom.
Palantir also has 4 listings. Man Group, Stripe and Kroo Bank Ltd each have 3. Moneyfarm and Porsche Cars GB Ltd have 2 each. Moneyfarm is filling both a Wealth Manager and an Investment Consultant, so the two roles sit side by side in wealth management.
Other named roles in the slice include Management Accountant at Lovey, Financial Accounting Manager at Freedom Leisure in East Sussex, Compliance Manager at Reeve, and FP&A Analyst at Lanes Group. That spread is the point: accounting, compliance, wealth, FP&A and banking are all hiring at once.
Where the jobs are#
London dominates with 70 of the 135 listings. Manchester and Birmingham have 5 each, Leeds has 4, and Cheltenham has 4. Outside London, the numbers are thin but real, and Cheltenham's 4 are largely explained by Barnett Waddingham's graduate intake.
If you are outside London, do not assume you have to relocate. Remote-friendly titles still exist in the slice, and several employers list regional offices explicitly.
What the job-type mix says#
Full-time roles account for 129 of 135. Contract is 4, part-time is 2. This is a market that wants permanent headcount, not interim cover.
The employer mix is worth reading closely. You have big tech and fintech (Palantir, Stripe, Zopa, Kroo Bank Ltd, Ramp), traditional financial institutions (Nomura, Man Group), specialist consultancies and actuarial firms (Barnett Waddingham, Lane Clark & Peacock, Interpath Advisory), consumer brands running in-house finance teams (Red Bull, AG Barr, Porsche Cars GB Ltd, Lanes Group), and leisure and charity operators (Freedom Leisure). Some names on the list are recruiters or staffing firms rather than end employers, so read each listing to see who you would actually work for.
Money and entry level#
Only 1 of the 135 listings shows pay. That one is Senior Credit Underwriter | UK at Ramp, posted at £74K to £100K with equity offered. Treat it as one data point, not a benchmark. Ranges vary by role, city and seniority, and you should check the current official source before quoting a number back to an employer.
Entry-level titles, meaning intern, graduate, junior, trainee and similar, account for 8 of 135. Beyond the Barnett Waddingham trio, they include Finance Graduate at AG Barr, Accounting Graduate - 18 Month Program at Red Bull, and Graduate Associate, Tax at Interpath Advisory. Graduate schemes are opening now for 2027 starts, which is normal timing.
How to apply this week#
Apply direct wherever you can. A careers page application reaches the hiring team faster than a repost, and you can see the full requirements.
Mirror the listing's own keywords. If the advert says "technical accounting" and "month-end", use those exact phrases where they describe you. Many UK employers run automated screening first, and you can check your CV against that with the free ATS checker before you send anything.
Worked example: rewriting a CV bullet
Say you are applying for the FP&A Analyst role at Lanes Group. A weak bullet reads: "Helped with budgeting and reporting."
Rewrite it using the advert's language and a concrete scale: "Built the monthly management accounts pack and variance analysis for a £40m cost base, working with budget holders across 5 regional teams." Same experience, but the words now match what the listing asks for.
Worked example: a short message to a recruiter
If the listing is from a staffing firm, a three-line note helps: "Hi, I've applied for the Finance Graduate role. I'm part-qualified ACCA with 12 months' experience in management accounts, and I'm available from 1 November. Happy to send my CV directly if that's easier." Short, factual, no fluff.
Your 7-step plan#
- Open the UK finance jobs feed and filter to postings from the last 7 days, which is 76 listings as of 14 October 2026.
- Shortlist 10 roles where you meet most of the stated requirements, and note the exact job title for each.
- Rewrite your CV bullet points to mirror each listing's keywords, then run it through the ATS checker before you submit.
- Apply direct on the employer's own site first, and use a recruiter only where the listing is clearly from one.
- Check the United Kingdom hiring report for the wider picture: 2,742 open listings across all categories, with 2,245 posted in the last 30 days.
- Track everything in a simple spreadsheet: company, title, date applied, source, and any follow-up date.
- Follow up once after 7 working days, then move on. Silence is common and rarely personal.
FAQ#
How fresh is this data?
All figures come from the JobRise live jobs feed, counted on 14 October 2026. They are counts of open listings, not a market survey, and they change daily.
Should I apply for roles asking for more experience than I have?
If you meet around 70% of the stated requirements, apply. Job adverts often describe an ideal candidate, and hiring managers adjust when they see strong adjacent experience.
Are the contract roles worth chasing?
There are only 4 contract listings in this snapshot, so the pool is small. Contract work can pay well and convert to permanent, but check the day rate and IR35 status before you commit.
Is London my only realistic option?
London has 70 of the 135 listings, so it is the centre of gravity. Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds and Cheltenham all have openings, and Barnett Waddingham alone is hiring graduates in three cities outside London.
Why do so few listings show salary?
Only 1 of 135 shows pay in this snapshot. UK employers often withhold ranges until later in the process, so ask about the band early rather than guessing.
