SEO briefs when people search with AI

Module 2: Do your marketing work better with AI

Course outline

Quick check

Guess first, no penalty. An AI tool writes you an SEO outline for "how to fix squeaky bike brakes". What does it usually lack?

SEO (search engine optimization) means getting your pages found in search. Search intent is what the person searching actually wants: a quick fix, a product to buy, or a deep guide.

People now also see AI Overviews in Google, which Google describes as "an AI-generated snapshot with key information" at the top of some results (Google Search Help).

Google's own guidance says its ranking systems "are designed to prioritize helpful, reliable information that's created to benefit people", and it asks whether your content shows "first-hand expertise" (Google Search Central). An AI outline has no first-hand anything. That part is yours.
