Start with one simple AI setup

Module 1: What AI already does in sales

Course outline

Quick check

Guess first, no penalty. You want AI to write first emails that sound like you and fit your buyers. What helps most to start?

Most bad AI sales writing has one cause: the tool knows nothing about your buyers, so it writes for an average buyer who doesn't exist. Fix that before any automation.

The fix is one saved setup. Many chat tools let you store background files and instructions once, so every new chat starts with them. Claude calls this a project. If your tool has nothing like it, a saved note you paste in works too.

A worked example

This is the background one account executive (the salesperson who runs deals) saved. Every line is real material, not adjectives.

Who we sell to (our ICP, ideal customer profile): sales teams of 10 to 50
reps at software companies, usually led by a VP of Sales who is hiring.

Deals we won: three short paragraphs, each saying what the buyer's
problem was and why they chose us.

Emails that got replies: three first emails I wrote, pasted in full.

Rules: under 120 words. One real detail about the prospect, which I will
give you. Never invent facts, titles, numbers or results. Write [check]
anywhere you are unsure.

Now a request can be one line: "First email to Maria, VP of Sales at Northwind. Real detail: her post about getting new reps to their first meeting faster." The tool already knows the buyer, the style and the rules.
