Guess first, no penalty. Microsoft Research studied 200,000 conversations with its AI assistant. On which kind of work were users least satisfied with AI's help?
The study, Working with AI (Microsoft Research, 2025), found "the common IWAs with the lowest positive feedback share include five visual design and five data analysis IWAs." An IWA is a work activity, like "design graphics".
So AI is not yet a designer. It's a fast production assistant: it makes many options, cuts out backgrounds, resizes, fills layouts with placeholder copy (sample text) and sorts research notes. Choosing, fixing and defending stay with you.
