Check every owner and date

Module 1: AI in project work

Course outline

Quick check

Guess first, no penalty. In a meeting, Raj says: "Maybe Lee can chase IT? I'll ask him." What should the AI's action item say?

An action item is a task someone agreed to do, with an owner and a date. AI summaries find them well, but they turn maybes into commitments. "Maybe Lee" becomes "Lee owns it". "Let's aim for the 30th" becomes "Launch confirmed".

People act on the summary, not the meeting. So check every owner, date and decision against what was actually said.

Ana: I can get the supplier quotes by Thursday.
Raj: Testing can't start until IT sends the new laptops.
Raj: Not sure who's chasing IT. Maybe Lee? I'll ask him.
Mei: Let's aim to launch on the 30th, but I want the quotes first.

Spot the mistakes

Tap the two action items the meeting didn't support. Tap a fine one and you get a hint.

Stop it at the prompt

A prompt is the message you send to the AI. This one can't turn a maybe into a promise:

List the action items from this transcript.
Name an owner only if that person agreed to it in the meeting.
If no owner or date was agreed, write "not agreed".
Label anything like "let's aim for" as a target, not a decision.

Fill the gaps

Fill the gaps in the same prompt.

Prompt
