Quick check
Guess first, no penalty. A cashier wants to move toward the store jobs that are growing. Which plan fits best?
A plan works when it has three parts: one AI skill, one human skill, and one project that proves both. Keep it small enough to finish in 90 days.
AI skill: use a chat tool the store allows to turn spec sheets into short
comparison notes for the 10 best-selling items in my section.
Human skill: product advice on the floor, matching an item to what the
customer actually needs.
Project: a set of 10 checked product notes (every detail confirmed on the
label), plus a log of the customer questions I answered and the sales
that followed. Shown to my manager at week 12.
Weeks 1 to 4: write and check the 10 notes. Fix anything the AI got wrong.
Weeks 5 to 8: ask to work the floor in that section. Log questions.
Weeks 9 to 12: offer to be the self-checkout go-to on my shift. Share the
notes and the log with my manager and ask about a lead role.
A chat tool is an app that writes answers to what you type, and a spec sheet is the maker's list of a product's details. The project gives your manager something to see. "I'm good with customers" is easy to say. Ten product notes you checked by hand and a log of the questions you answered show it.
