Guess first, no penalty. You are a data entry keyer. Which reading of the study is fair?
The same Anthropic study, Labor market impacts of AI, also looked at pay and jobs.
Pay and education
Workers in the most exposed jobs (jobs where AI is used for many of the tasks) earn about 47% more than those with zero exposure. They are far more likely to hold graduate degrees, meaning a master's degree or higher (17.4% vs 4.5%).
So the jobs with the most AI use are often skilled, well-paid roles. Software work and financial analysis sit high on the list too.
What the employment data shows
There has been no systematic rise (no clear rise across the group) in unemployment for highly exposed workers since late 2022. But since ChatGPT (a popular AI chat tool) launched, the job-finding rate of 22 to 25 year olds in exposed jobs is about 14% below 2022. The job-finding rate is how often people looking for these jobs find one. The authors call this result just barely significant, meaning only just strong enough to count. There is no drop for workers over 25.
That is the honest reading. Do not turn it into a prediction. The study shows what has happened up to now, not what will happen next year.
People quote the same study to argue opposite points. The difference is what they leave out.
Two facts, side by side
Unemployment hasn't risen for people in these jobs.
Young people are finding these jobs a little less often than in 2022.
That's what has happened so far, not a forecast.
