Four skills to build now

Module 1: What AI already does in your job

Course outline

Quick check

Guess first, no penalty. Which habit with AI drafts builds a skill worth having?

Here are four skills worth building. Pick one and start this month.

  • Speed with AI drafting: let AI write the first version, you fix tone and facts
  • Judgment on escalations: knowing when a ticket must reach a human with full context
  • Writing great help articles: clear, short, answer first, easy for a bot to read
  • Basic data skills for support metrics: reading escalation rate, handle time and ticket volume yourself

Support metrics are the numbers that show how support is doing. Escalation rate is how often tickets get passed up to a person. Handle time is how long a ticket takes. Ticket volume is how many come in.

A worked example

A prompt is the message you send to the AI tool. This one rewrites a help article so a bot can answer from it:

I am rewriting a help center article for our bot. Current article: [paste it]. Real customer questions we still get about it: [3 questions, with names and order details removed]. Rewrite it in plain English so a bot can answer from it. Put the direct answer in the first two sentences.

Fill the gaps

Fill the gaps so the rewrite helps the bot.
