Quick check
Guess first, no penalty. AI rewrote a line on your resume, the document that lists your work, to fit a job post. It now says "Improved onboarding efficiency by 30%." You never measured onboarding. What do you do?
Here is the top of a resume tailored two ways for a customer success role. The facts in the master resume: about 60 support chats a day, 12 billing help articles written, repeat billing questions went down after the articles (no exact figure), and work with the billing team to fix a confusing invoice email.
Before and after

AI-tailored
Results-driven customer success professional with a proven track record of driving retention. Spearheaded customer success initiatives, resulting in a 40% reduction in repeat inquiries. Orchestrated cross-team efforts to improve customer satisfaction by 25%.
The edit lost the 40% and the 25%, because nobody measured them. It kept every true fact, and it sounds like a person describing their own work. If you later find the real figure in a ticket report, add it back.
The out-loud test
Read each bullet out loud as if an interviewer just said "tell me about that". Cut any word you'd never say. If you can't explain a number in one sentence, where it came from and how you know, cut the number too. It takes five minutes and catches the worst tells.
Then check the keywords (the words recruiters search for) honestly. Run the result through the free ATS checker, or practice matching in the ATS keyword match lab, and add a missing keyword only where it describes work you really did.
Fill the gaps
Fill the gaps so the line is true and sounds like you.
