A chatbot writes text that follows patterns in the data it was trained on. It does not look facts up in a database as it writes. It produces the words that fit best after your question.
So it has no reliable alarm for a question it can't answer. When the real answer is missing, it often fills the gap with something that sounds right. That failure is called hallucination. The sentence is fluent and the tone is calm, but the fact is invented.
