AI chat tools such as ChatGPT (apps that write answers to what you type) are strongest where fluent text is the goal and the source material is in front of them.
- Drafting: a first pass at an email, a job post (a job ad) or a customer reply.
- Rewriting tone: turning a blunt message into a polite one, or the other way round.
- Summarizing text you paste: meeting notes, a long email thread, a support ticket.
- Brainstorming: ten names for a workshop, five objections a customer might raise.
- Explaining a topic simply: "explain accrual accounting like I'm new to the job".
- Formatting: turning a messy list into a table, or notes into bullet points.
- First drafts of formulas: an Excel or Google Sheets formula, a simple SQL query (a question you ask a database).
