Redact with placeholders and still get good help

Module 4: Privacy and safe use at work

Course outline

Quick check

Guess first, no penalty. Which version is safe to paste into a public chatbot (an AI chat tool anyone can sign up for)?

"Hi Ms. Fernandes, the renewal for Orbit Retail is confirmed at $18,500.""Hi [CLIENT], the renewal is confirmed at [AMOUNT].""Hi Ms. F., the renewal for O. Retail is about $18.5k."

To redact means to take private details out before you share a text. Your aim is to give the AI the shape of the problem without giving it the content. Replace each real detail with a placeholder: [CLIENT], [AMOUNT], [DATE], [PHONE], [PROJECT].

Priya at Orbit Retail	[CLIENT]
$18,500	[AMOUNT]

Project HALO	[PROJECT]

Keep the structure, the grammar and the real problem. Those are what the AI needs to work on.
