Shift handover notes

Module 2: Do the job better with AI

Course outline

Quick check

Guess first, no penalty. Your shift ends at 10 pm and you have five messy lines of notes for the next team. What is the best use of AI?

A shift handover is the note the next team reads when they start. Good notes say what is done, what is still open, who owns each open task and when it's due.

Messy notes can lose a task, and a lost task often becomes a guest complaint. AI is good at tidying the words, as long as every task survives the edit. A prompt is the message you type into the tool, so paste your notes with guest names and room details removed.

Tidy the notes, keep every task

Turn these notes into a shift handover with three headings: Done, Open, Watch.
For each open task, give the owner and the time. Keep every task. Don't add tasks.
Notes: A cot was delivered to a guest room. Pool towels short, order placed. Lobby lights flicker, call maintenance (Sam) before 9. A guest wants a late checkout, answer by tomorrow.
