Know when not to use AI

Module 3: Judgment calls and your portfolio

Course outline

Quick check

Guess first, no penalty. A guest asks, "Can your restaurant guarantee my baby's food has no peanut traces?" What do you do?

Knowing when not to use AI is part of the job. Don't use it for allergens, legal claims, safety incidents, disputes between staff, or anything about a guest's health. Don't use it for any answer that depends on a record the tool can't see, such as a booking, a stock count or a kitchen sheet.

Use AI for the words around that work, and keep the decision with the person who owns it.
