AI works on the words, not the room

Module 1: What AI already does on a hotel or restaurant shift

Course outline

Quick check

Guess first, no penalty. A front desk agent has a rough note: "Room 412, late checkout not approved, guest needs a cot by 14:00, light sleeper." Which job is AI best for?

Hotels, restaurants and bars run on text: guest requests, shift notes, menus and booking emails. All hotels, restaurants, guests and staff in this course are made up.

A prompt is the message you type into the AI tool. AI is good at working with text you give it. It can rewrite, shorten, translate and sort. It can't see the room, the kitchen, the stock or the guest's face.

So the rule is simple: AI works on what you paste in, and you check every fact against the real source.

A worked example

Turn these notes into a message for the housekeeping team.
Use only the facts below. Plain words, under 40 words. Don't add times or promises.
Notes: Room 412. Guest leaves at noon, late checkout not approved. Needs a cot by 14:00. Light sleeper, so please keep cleaning quiet.

Your turn

Fill the gaps

Fill each gap so the tool has only the facts it needs.
